Intensive Clarification Technology for Water Plant Application
State-of-the-art technology for application in water plants

Intensive Clarifications Technology is an integration of sludge recirculation process and slanting tube separation process. It possesses several advantages over existing technologies, including high tolerance to sudden influx of turbidity loading, high clarification efficiency and small land use.

Characteristics

  • Integration of sludge recirculation process (increase in flocculation and coagulation rate) and slanting tube separation process (increase in sedimentation rate)
  • Supplemented by the uses of polymer coagulants (further increase in flocculation and coagulation rate)
  • Use of activated sludge also removes organic matters
  • Incorporated with concentration of sludge at tank bottom

Advantages of Intensive Clarifier Technology

  • High loading with  stable water quality even when there is sudden  increase in turbidity.
  • Highly efficient  clarification:
    • Production of very  large and homogenous flocs resulted in high  separation rate of 20 – 40 m3 /m2 /hr
    • Highly concentrated flocs at 3,000 – 5,000 mg/L are formed.

  • Small land use: saving of up to 66%.

  • Additional benefits
    • Activated sluge removers some orgainc matters
    • Concentrated sludge water at 3% or more at tank bottom can be dehydrated directly using mechanical device
